Tommy King

Growing up as a scarlet blooded Buckeye, Tommy King had always planned to attend The Ohio State University. After three years in Columbus, He come to the stark reality that his purpose did not lie with a degree. Tommy returned home to Cuyahoga Falls just as the COVID-19 hit and due to the boredom of quarantine he found inspiration after discovering amazing woodworking artists.

Tommy started a journey trying various word working techniques and found his style and technique working mainly with walnut and maple as his chosen media. I love the beauty of the grain and wood tone of walnut and the contrast of the light maple combination. The result is a beautiful, timeless combination used with more contemporary shapes.  Now my work is being show in places such as Akron’s Northside Marketplace and Gallery 143 in Green, Ohio,

I can confidently say that I have found the path that I have been looking for.
